Basmane and İzmir, Turkey, are strategically located and play a significant role in railway, tourism, and trade. Basmane Train Station leads İzmir's railway network, serving as the intersection point for urban and intercity train lines, supporting trade and tourism with the railway. This interaction has boosted the overall dynamism of İzmir and Basmane, turning them into strong hubs for tourism and trade. Along with their historical riches and transportation infrastructure, they provide a significant economic and cultural contribution.

Our expectation from the project is to contribute to the development of Basmane while carrying out this process ecologically and to ensure that the ecological solutions we offer are permanent. First of all, it is the method we believe in to ensure that this system is transmitted from generation to generation as a culture in order to ensure that the ecological system we have established remains sustainable. In this context, the idea of Social Factory: Basmane, inspired by the Social Factory Project, which was the first and most important work of the first five-year planning of the Republic of Turkey, where production, education and culture come together, but was later discontinued, was developed, made more comprehensive and implemented. Basmane is the pilot region of the Social Factory: Basmane project. While the promotion and management of the project is carried out here, it creates an exemplary area for the world.

Social Factory: Basmane is a factory the size of a city where many functions come together and these functions work systematically. The new city silhouette created with ecological solutions targets circular economy and sustainability, not only regionally but also including the 3rd Region Alsancak train stations. Basmane and other stations are connected by a train line, and the train not only carries freight but also culture. Social Factory: Basmane has five main streams. Flows target ecological needs and fill gaps. Determined in this process; Food, blue-green, people, energy and waste streams work by feeding each other and the city.

The lack of infrastructure resulting from the needs of the flows has been eliminated with the designed Gıdı-Gıdı Smart Logistics-Transportation system. It is aimed for this system to produce its own energy, to work with a zero carbon strategy within the scope of blue-green flow, to organize tours as a touristic function between Expo2026 and Konak Pier within the scope of people flow, and to carry loads within the scope of food and waste flow.
